Grand Vin De Bordeaux

“RIVE GAUCHE” 2011

THE EXPERIENCE

Bordeaux’s Left Bank is the alias of Cabernet Sauvignon, and vice versa. Vintage after vintage, the same noble variety expresses itself in different ways, depending on the terroirs and climatic conditions. Rather than challenging the might of the 2010 vintage, the 2011 vintage excels in fresh fruits and linear structure, reflecting the vertical, forest-like motifs of this elegant image, greeting the eyes with soothing shades of red whilst inviting in-depth observation.

THE WINE

This exceptionally elegant wine is the result of a careful selection of the best parcels from the Haut-Médoc area in Bordeaux. This wine consists of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 12% Petit Verdot. It is a very generous and elegant wine, with a beautiful bouquet of dried cherries, wild berries and vanilla aromas.

Serving temperature: 16 to 17°C

Decant 2 hours before serving

Drink now to 15 years

THE ART

Collection 2011: 19.01.2000 – 2000
Oil on canvas – 97 x 130 cm – Private collection

Evident in Zao Wou-Ki’s late oil paintings, the audaciousness in aesthetics and form is the expression of his artistic virtuosity through decades. With sublime mastery, he created this abstract yet highly structured work with black shapes against the backdrop of coloured spots and washings. Staying true to his Chinese heritage, Zao Wou-Ki exemplifies how coloured voids are as important as painted motives.
