Grand Vin De Bordeaux
SAUVIGNON BLANC 2011
THE EXPERIENCE
Thanks to a relatively cool summer, 2011 as a vintage has been one of the best for white Bordeaux over the past decade. Exuding intense notes of tropical fruits, herbs and flowers, its brightness and clarity are a breath of fresh air, mirrored by this delightful composition of airy colours and dainty brushes. With the poise and fluidity akin to a traditional Chinese ink wash, the versatility of Sauvignon Blanc as determined by terroirs and vintages is fully exemplified.
THE WINE
This superb white wine is the result of a careful selection of the best “terroirs” of Sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux. It is a fresh and elegant wine which reveals exotic aromas of lime, peach and grapefruit. As you taste the wine, you will discover a perfect balance and a wonderful richness to the palate. This vintage delivers a burst of freshness and a fine lingering finish.
Serving temperature: 12 to 13°C
THE ART
Collection 2011: La Cavalerie – 2008
Watercolour on paper – 66 x 102 cm – Private collection
Zao Wou-Ki significantly changed his modus operandi for his last watercolours. Rather than confining himself to the studio, he moved on to embrace nature and create paintings outdoor. Immersing himself in nature, he would paint on a table set on the grass, immediately transcribing the marvels of nature, indeed his unique source of inspiration.
