POUILLY-FUISSÉ 2010

THE EXPERIENCE

If the stylistically versatile Chardonnay is a blank canvas on which painters – or winemakers – can transcribe their artistic concepts, this Pouilly-Fuissé would be an exquisite landscape painting reminiscent of summer. One of the best vintages of the past decade, the 2010 vintage is praised for its fragrant, lush and multifarious character. In his last years, Zao Wou-Ki left his atelier for nature, which he depicted using watercolour and paper, the most immediate of painting methods. Time to release and relish this rhapsody of nature.

THE WINE

The Pouilly-Fuissé “terroir” is the most renowned appellation in the Mâconnais, and it is considered as the “King” of this wine region whose amazing diversity of soils gives all its complexity to the Chardonnay. Elegance and distinction characterize this wine whose creamy and delicate nature present a complex and enduring finish.

Serving temperature: 11 to 13°C

Decant 1 hour before serving

Drink now to 12 years

THE ART

Collection 2010: Untitled – 2007
Watercolour on paper – 66 x 102 cm – Private collection

In his recent watercolours, Zao Wou-Ki significantly changed his methods of work. Whereas he had enclosed himself in the closed box of his studio, he now chooses to work outside. The fact he directly paints onto the picture and sometimes, on a table set on the grass, demonstrates his choice to immerse himself into nature.
