‘‘RÉSERVE SPÉCIALE’’ – NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES 2013

THE EXPERIENCE

Of the numerous glittering names peppered around the mighty Côte-de-Nuits, Nuits-Saint-Georges is particularly revered for its finesse and structure. As embodied in the painting, the wine’s complex bouquet is both alluring and elusive, calling for the patience and knowledge of the seasoned connoisseur. As the wine matures, its harmony becomes almost spiritual, delighting all the senses like a haunting phantom.

THE WINE

This Réserve Spéciale is a rare combination of various treasures from Burgundy. Already captivating with aromas of cassis, cherry and strawberry, it will age gracefully over many years, acquiring notes of truffle, game and fur in the process. Resting on a full-bodied structure, this graceful and substantial wine combines freshness and delicacy, ending with a persistent and rounded aftertaste.

Serving temperature: 15°C to 16°C

Decant 2 hours before serving

Drink now to 15 years

THE ART

Miquel Barceló, Eight Poles – 1987
Mixed media on canvas – 230 x 300 cm – © Galerie Bruno Bischofberger

Depicting abstract objects on white landscapes in which images gradually fade away, Miquel Barceló’s “paintings of the desert” are exploratory works on the subject of transparency, achieved by employing a wide variety of materials in layers of accumulated paint. This composition, one of his earliest of the genre, is a fight between shadow and light, not least his idiosyncratic reaction to post-modernism.
